Now posted at The NDN Silver Blog, it's a small flame-colored spirit of the season, a counterpart to our current crop of fledgling magpies, voluble and eager to be out in the new summer light. It's a meditation, too, on the process of learning to fly, and the need, despite the fire in our spirits, to wait for the growth of wings to match.
