What the view looked like from here today.

This morning, Avilyn was kind enough to post a fundraising diary for us at the GOS. Thanks to her efforts, and combined with a donation and sales yesterday, it looks as though we will be able to pay the deposit to the plumber. That will allow them to order the materials needed to begin the roughing-in process.

It looks as though we will also be able to go ahead and order the concrete and the adobes on Monday. That means that the builder will be able to start the footing and foundation on Monday, and by Wednesday, potentially, begin work on the adobe.

But there's still a lot to do, and a lot to pay for. The two most immediate are the $6K for the plumber to begin the actual rough-in, and the purchase of the windows (which in itself will be a huge expense). I'd like to be able to arrange for both when the time comes, which will be far sooner than we ever would have thought.

I'm still trying to raise another $5,500 so that we can close out this fundraiser. It won't be long now before we need to do Stage III.

Many thanks to everyone who rec'd, shared, donated, bought items off our Amazon wish list, or placed orders. We're profoundly grateful. [Special shout-out to the kind soul who ordered the FitBit, which I have needed for months but could never justify (I can never justify spending on myself, basically).] My time is more compressed than ever, but I'm going to try to carve out some hours this weekend for thank-you notes . . . around trying to get the garden in and getting calls made preparatory to Monday morning, when we'll be back at it bright and early.
