Slightly eerie sunset last night, followed by rain late and on into the morning hours.

LOTS of rain.

We've had a little more this afternoon already, and the radar map indicates a lot more to come. Which means that after a day that has been derailed on virtually every level, putting me even further behind than before, I have to get the evening chores out of the way early before the weather hits. Speaking of eerie, just as fall showed up early, it seems that all the trappings of the end of October are trying to do the same. That includes the weather, and whatever spirits are walking; Cricket spends most of his nights chasing them now. 

If you look at the post below this, you'll see that today's NDN Silver feature is that extaordinary new piece by Wings with the pottery sherds. If I could sell that, I could probably get us caught up for the moment.  If I could sell it plus the one he created at the same time, I know I could. I also know the likelihood of that happening is vanishingly slim. 

Still. He's got a bunch of new pieces coming down the pike; I might even have a couple of them yet tonight, depending on how his time in the studio is going right now. We're still hoping to put aside enough for a new well when the ground thaws enough to drill in the spring, too, Nah, we've given up on the well. No one's available to drill before late next year at the earliest, and this year's tax burden means we would never be able to afford it anyway. But it's even more of a good time to make a purchase, because Uncle Sam is a vindictive colonizer, and my current stress levels about paying it all are off the charts.
