Two new necklaces by Wings, each a masterwork.

I've been promising two major new works for a couple of days. He finished them last night, and here they are: two new necklaces by Wings, each a masterwork. Now, they're priced accordingly; these are costly. So are the materials that went into their creation, never mind the labor, talent, skill, experience, time, reputation, etc. But they will make powerful adornments for someone out there, and I do mean powerful.

First up is the one shown above, called From Ancient Fires

The backing of the pendant, all one piece, is saw-cut freehand around edging produced by Wings's own hand-made stamps, evoking the imagery of flames, with a figure seeming to emerge directly from them. That figure is formed by three focals: two ancient sherds of black-on-white pottery from Wings's own land, around a central freeform dagger of lacy, almost chatoyant malachite marbled in the richest of greens. The beads were all hand-selected to pick up the colors of the focals, and they're mostly of lightweight materials to balance the weight and size of the pendant. You can read its full description here.

The second work is also built around three focals, but of a very different set of colors and textures. This is All the Shades of the Sun:

This one embodies the sun at its cloud-marbled midday, bookended by the amber glwo of dawn and the banded fires of dusk. The pendant, again, saw-cut freehand to accommodate all three stones on a single organic backing, consists, from top, of Maligano jasper, formed in the volcanic landscape of Indonesia; agatized amber that was sold as Dominican blue amber but I forgot to check it against black before he set it, so I've described it only as agatized "amber"; and bloodstone, teal greens and ivory marbling shades of rust red and dusty rose. Again, the beads were all hand-selected to pick up the colors of the stones in the pendant, and they range from OLD amber plus newer gold and red amber to sunstone and four shades of moonstone, accented here and there by barrels of Indonesian silver. You can read its full description here.

Wings's main page is here. Inquiries via the site's Contact formWe badly need to make consistent sales to make it through the rest of this third year of pandemic and loss (and we are approaching the end of these outrageously costly couple of weeks with major expenses still awaiting payment), and if we could sell these two, a lot of those pressures would recede immediately, so shares of the site links are much appreciated.
