It's all good.

Look at that beautiful sight!

Wings called first thing this morning, he answered the phone, and he said they'd probably be out sometime this week.

And were here at 1 PM.

So they have dug; we have a new 50-gallon well tank, new hookups, new standpipe; we have water, and we have real water pressure again, at long last.

And yes, all this is why everything's late, but I don't care; I'm just do overjoyed not to have to worry about the water suddenly crapping out completely again in another one of our hottest weeks of the year.

If you're wondering how it all works, I did ask.  Or, rather, I asked whether the problem with the old tank was rust opening up holes that then prevented the pressure pump from being able to haul it up fast enough. Not quite; it's a bladder inside the tank, and over time, they give out [because everything's electric now, so there's no manual override on these things anymore].  And I said, "So when the bladder gives out, the pressure pump tries to haul the water up, but there's no corresponding push from deep in the tank, and so it still can't it up and burns out trying?"

And that's it. He actually said, "That's a really good question that you asked." It sounds like most people don't ask and don't want to know; they just want it to work, and don't care about how that happens. I'd rather know so that we know what to watch for if there's ever a problem, although with luck, we won't have to worry about it for another thirty years. [He also told Wings he married a very smart woman, so there's that.]

Anyway, they were done in under three hours; he took off with one of his sons [presumably to the next job, because they are booked literally years in advance with the well drilling] and left the other son to clean up the excavation, which he did fast and beautifully. I think they were going to bill us, because the son seemed surprised when we asked for the total, but he had it, and it was pretty on the nose of my discussion with his dad. So we paid him, gave him tips to distribute among the three of them, and within an hour, they had e-mailed me a receipt for the whole shot. We're a few grand lighter in the wallet, but wow, is it ever worth it.

And now, maybe I can begin to get caught up on all the other work. Starting tomorrow. For now, I'm wiped, and I still have all of today's stuff to finish. And this week, I've got to get all his new work up, in addition to riding herd on the whole commissions thing. But it's all good. Now that we have this big thing no longer hanging over our heads, if we can just continue to make regular weekly sales, we'll be fine. And to that end, links are here:

And we do still need to make those regular weekly sales, so please share all of the links.
