Photobombed by a nuthatch.

Photobombed by a nuthatch, dagger beak pointed straight up.  [that's that little black spot in the upper left of the sky; if you click on the photo, you'll see the bird and his beak; out of focus, though, because they're so fast].

I was up there to look out at Ice's resting place, tell him I miss him, tell him I still love him. We lost my wild beautiful mustang boy at 10:30 in the morning eight years ago today, and there's not a day that goes by that I don't miss him terribly. But the cancer made the colic fatal, and it was only a question of how long he would suffer terribly, and we couldn't leave him in pain. The pain's just mine, now, another great big hole in my heart. Maybe the nuthatch was him saying hello.

That was this morning. And no, your eyes do not deceive you; it was all bright blue skies and just small baby thunderheads trying to form. You know, at the point this morning when our chance of rain was still zero percent. And I mean that literally; the forecast showed a big fat  "0%."

And then suddenly this afternoon, it became 89%, and then we got a cloudburst, and now it's just cloudy, but with a chance of more to come.

And we're both still so jazzed at the prospect of not having to worry about running water. The water pressure is amazing; it's clearly been failing for years, because neither of us can remember the last time we had this kind of pressure. It's also a lot hotter, and speaking of the water heater working better? To get the warranty on it, we had to install a water softener, and that hasn't worked in months. Until now.

And now that we have this big thing no longer hanging over our heads, if we can just continue to make regular weekly sales, we'll be fine. And to that end, links are here:

And we do still need to make those regular weekly sales, so please share all of the links.
