What's to come.

Not a single cloud in the sky at 7 AM. By 8:00, that's what the Spoonbowl looked like — completely hidden.

Now it's a mix, but the thunderheads, gray bases notwithstanding, are too high, too scattered, and too distant to bring rain. Which is fine. We're supposed to get it all week, starting tomorrow [afternoons/evenings], and yesterday's storms were so heavy that the ground is incredibly soft now. No rain today will let it dry just enough to absorb what's to come.

In the meantime, you can feel the earth breathing, feel the absolute sense of relief that infuses everything now.

Speaking of what's to come, long weekend, and somehow, I have GOT to make it rain in the other sense. We need to have the deck repaired in September, and Tony and Nano are coming over on Monday [as in the day after tomorrow] to check out what will be required. But the wood is weather-damaged enough to be dangerous in spots, and that's got to be fixed. That's the problem with the climate here, even when it's stained and sealed; the mix of high heat, impossible aridity, months of gale-force winds, and then pummeling rains like we've had this summer [or snows in winter] so serious damage. It can't wait for spring; it needs to be fixed before winter. Some of the planks are weakened enough that I don't step on the joins anymore, but the dogs don't know any better, and I also don't want either of us putting a foot through it.

Which means I have GOT to bring in some sales this weekend. There's all the medical stuff to pay for, new scrips, and a bunch of equipment stuff he needs for his work. It's been a ridiculously expensive year already [on top of last year], but if we can just continue to make regular weekly sales, we'll be fine. But we need to make those sales now. I posted seven new works by Wings last week, but I've got to sell them for it to make any difference. There's a lot of gorgeous new work up, and that includes several pairs of brand new earrings are a more modest price point than most of this work. And to that end, links are here:

And we do still need to make those regular weekly sales, so please share all of the links.
