And the world keeps dying.

The rufous has returned. He seemed to have even bigger saucer eyes than usual, staring raptly at the fact of not one but two full feeders all to himself.

Of course, another hummingbird came along about three seconds later, and they started to squabble over it.

The hell of it is, just like with [not-]our governments, there's always enough to go around. It's just colonialist greed and selfishness and frankly sociopathy that keeps it from being so. We could indeed have that better world, but very day I'm told by people who expect me to back their nonsense why it's impossible.

And the world keeps dying.

Meanwhile, the work keeps coming. Wings is planning to till this weekend so that I ca [we hope] get some things in the ground on Monday. The rest of the week will be an absolute mess, with appointments and the chimney people coming out and and and and. Wings managed to get some mowing done two days ago (hard when it's still this wet, but he managed it), and some weed-whacking done before the machine gave up the ghost permanently yesterday.

Along with his right shoulder.

Which means that we need a new one, but he can no longer use the cheap over-the-shoulder kind; he needs that shoulder for the silverwork. Which also means that we need a push trimmer (because if you recall, we lost a family member to mosquito-borne West Nile meningoencephalitis two years ago, mid-the pandemic's early days, and the rains have made the weeds high and mosquitoes busy now.  It's the first thing on the wishlist; the next two items are the accessories needed.  It's ridiculously expensive and there's no way we can afford to buy it; we have to pay cash for everything, and I'm already contemplating canceling my next pain therapy appointment anyway.

So, yeah, we need to make sales consistently, always. All the links are here:

  • Sales here
  • Testimonials here
  • Amazon wishlist here (priorities are first and foremost, the push trmmer and accessories, then the other ladder, the Thermacell lanterns particularly, because the mosquitoes have arrived with the rains, and the Gorilla tape);
  • Patreon here;
  • Ko-fi here.

We're still hoping to put aside enough for a new well when the ground thaws enough to drill in the spring, too, Nah, we've given up on the well. No one's available to drill before the latter half of summer, and the tax burden means we would never be able to afford it anyway. But it's perhaps even more of a good time to make a purchase, because Uncle Sam is a vindictive colonizer, and my current stress levels about paying it all are off the charts. And there's lots of fabulous work, so please share all of the links.
