The elements are batting a thousand.

All of those heavy black clouds yesterday? Passed us by.

Until last night. Near sunset, the new banks of stormclouds that had been forming to the west/northwest shifted direction and raced south . . . which typically means that they're going around us on the other side. But these shifted direction yet again, and ran right over us, stopping for a good forty minutes or so to deliver a hard, heavy rain.

Not so hard or heavy that the ground couldn't absorb it, though. So far, the elements are batting a thousand on that score (unlike my beloved but ever-sorry Tigers).

More rain today, allegedly, although the percentage isn't great — but last night was 5% and look at what we got instead, and today, the clouds are busy congregating again already. I expect that we'll get at least a small shower late in the day. If we're really lucky, it'll rain out all the fireworks this stupid county hurriedly relegalized after only two days of rain. Colonial greed knows no bounds. While we celebrate this day for its beauty and medicine, we'll never celebrate this date.

It's been a hard, nose-to-the-grindstone few days for both of us. He's been in the studio working as furiously as possible to catch up orders that he couldn't complete while it was too dangerous to user the grinder/buffer (sparks in a drought like we've had are a nonstarter). I have those two rings to post later today (had them yesterday, but couldn't cadge enough free time to get to it), and yesterday I did post his first in The Summer Elementals series, albeit very late. You can see them here, and click through to see the full display of color in the pieces. Two new pairs of hoop earrings also posted a few nights ago, which you can see here. And he's got other things in the pipeline, but we have to get immediate matters dealt with first. That's made harder by my current pain levels, which are all-encompassing and completely unmanageable now, for a whole host of reasons, meanwhile, the costs of saving the land mount, too. We need to make sales consistently, always. All the links are here:

  • Sales here
  • Testimonials here
  • Amazon wishlist here (priorities are first and foremost, the other ladder, the Thermacell lanterns particularly, because the mosquitoes have arrived with the rains, and the Gorilla tape);
  • Patreon here;
  • Ko-fi here.

We're still hoping to put aside enough for a new well when the ground thaws enough to drill in the spring, too, Nah, we've given up on the well. No one's available to drill before the latter half of summer, and the tax burden means we would never be able to afford it anyway. But it's perhaps even more of a good time to make a purchase, because Uncle Sam is a vindictive colonizer, and my current stress levels about paying it all are off the charts. And there's lots of fabulous work, so please share all of the links.
