Doors! Ones that swing the proper direction, even. Delivery issues. And shares and sales needed.

Well, we got the door problem corrected.

That up there is the same bathroom door as last night, only now it swings the proper way, which is to say, outward (to the left from this vantage point; to the right from outside). The other one now swings outward into the spare room. I will never understand why people have this obsession with making bathroom doors swing inward, in a home. It's pretty generally always the smallest room in the home, and it is possible to put locking doorknobs on them, and why cramp up your limited space any more than absolutely necessary? But it seems to be a thing. At any rate, it's our home, and we're the ones who will have to live in its various spaces, and we don't want the doors blocking both shower and tub, so they've been fixed.

They got the other doors hung, too:

Our bedroom closet, seen through the open door of the bathroom, across the hall. Thankfully, they hung that one to swing inward, so nothing needed to be changed.

The spare bedroom, showing the just-barely-visible main door that opens inward into the room (which they hadn't hung yet, so I got to them in time), and the door adjoining the bathroom, which now swings outward as it was supposed to do. They also began work on cutting and staining the wood for the trim.

Allegedly, one of the light fixtures still on order was supposed to be delivered today, but it's 6 PM and still no UPS man, so who knows? Of more pressing concern is the flooring for upstairs, which is supposed to arrive sometime tomorrow, after having had it listed for the 21st and then the 26th with no additional info. We'll see. Also tomorrow, I hope Wings and I can get back to tile sorting, something we weren't able to do today. Best-laid plans and all that. I mean, that and Murphy's Law have been the two governing principles of this whole process, so . . . ::shrug::.

We do, however, have a ton of other tasks waiting for us both, too. And an equal amount of expense. Labor is killing us (said every homebuilder or remodeler ever), and we need to save on materials wherever we can. So: shares of Wings's site for sale, and shares of our wishlist for Lowe's and Home Depot cards. the latter are not actually on the Amazon wishlist (they're only available direct from the company), but the link is below along with the others, so please share them all:
  • Wings's site, for sales;
  • Lowe's cards (the physical version) via our Amazon wishlist;
  • Lowe's e-cards (delivered via e-mail) here; and
  • Home Depot cards via the company site. The e-version using my e-mail address is great; I take the tablet to the store with me, and they scan it off the screen.
The rain came during the afternoon today, our more usual monsoonal pattern, and it looks as though it'll likely be clear tonight. One less worry, at least, with regard to Internet access and cell signal (and hopefully power, although that goes out on a clear still day with no explanation, so . . .). I still have work ahead of me tonight, and prep for some of tomorrow's tasks, too, and I need to get to it.
