Flowering Wild

Photo copyright Aji, 2019; all rights reserved.

Now posted at The NDN Silver Blog, it's one of Wings's more recent cuffs, one that embodies the bright spirits of medicine upon these warming winds. It's a representation of the brilliant petals that line the outside of the house, rows of tiny blooms now flowering wild across the earth.

The post is here. Wings's main page is here. Inquiries via the site's Contact form. And, as always, sales are very much needed (Over the last month, $11K out in taxes, nearly as much cumulatively in medical testing since the first of the year, several hundred again this week, and $30K in hospital bills that need to be paid now), so shares of the site links are much appreciated.

Dark days.

Photo copyright Aji, 2019; all rights reserved.

These are dark days.

I mean that literally as well as figuratively. There was a zero-percent chance of weather yesterday, but that up there? That built up in early evening, and then in the blink of an eye whipped up into something with rotation in it on all sides. A half-dozen or so raindrops out of it, but the wind patterns (and force and speed) were the really disturbing part. Fortunately, they didn't take out what's left of the stable this time around, unlike last year; they just spun out over the peaks. And no, we haven't been able to afford to rebuild the stables. Or do anything more to finish the house. My medical crises have sucked up everything into a as deep a black hole as my depression.

No sleep to speak of again; I'm refusing to take the prednisone today, because 1) I just can't handle the headache and ocular pressure and sleeplessness anymore, and 2) in theory, my new inhalers are supposed to be ready later today. No, I have no idea how many hundreds of dollars those are going to set me back. No relief from the other stresses, either: No response from the surgeon on the biopsy (nor any hint as to whether I'll soon be incurring a lot more and heavier medical expense yet); and no break from the hounding on the $30K still outstanding on hospital bills. I need to raise this. People think I'm exaggerating when I say it's killing me; I'm not. I have to get my blood pressure back down into safe levels, and right now, it's high all the time from the stress. And I'm someone whose BP is normally exceptionally low and healthy, so this is a big problem.

On the current push, I've raised $217 toward that $30K (and thank you to the two folks who made that possible). I've got a lot more work that I have to get done both on- and offline yet, too, and nothing left in reserve, so here are the links, because I have to bring in this full $30K somehow, and now:
  • Wings's site, for sales, with lots of new items posted;
  • Wings's direct PayPal link;
  • A way to buy me coffee (which actually goes to all of our medical bills, which continue to mount);
  • My Patreon, The Interstices (Writing Between Worlds) (and if you subscribe today you won't be billed until June 1st for May);
  • Amazon wishlist, which mostly consists of animal and household stuff, the big one being the fly spray;
  • Partial registry #1, from Bed, Bath and Beyond. I've added two or three new kitchen-y things on it now, stuff that I didn't realize we'd need.
I'm done with the rest. I have to be.

Friday Feature: Dam and Flow

Photo copyright Aji, 2019; all rights reserved.

It's our Friday Feature at The NDN Silver Blog, with a small but powerful work by a Pueblo master that embodies an architect and builder of season and ecosystem. It's a meticulously-detailed small sculpture of Beaver, here to remind us to look for the natural dam and flow of the earth's currents, and to renew and maintain them in harmony.

The post is here. Wings's main page is here. Inquiries via the site's Contact form. And, as always, sales are very much needed (April saw us pay out $11K in taxes and nearly that much since the first of the year in medical testing, with $30K in hospital balances still outstanding, and several hundred more in medical bills yesterday and today alone), so shares of the site links are much appreciated.

Spiky.

Photo copyright Aji, 2019; all rights reserved.
I feel spiky right now for SO many reasons, so these two are a perfect fit.

Day Two of a concerted campaign to raise the $30K needed to pay off my hospital balances before things get even worse than they are already. Only $29,855 to go. If that sounds cynical and depressed, it's because it is.

I had to shell out another $200 this morning at the doctor, and there will be at least that much to pay out tomorrow when I pick up my scrips. She's trying two separate inhalers, one maintenance inhaler that's generally well-tolerated by patients allergic to the others, and one rescue inhaler, which is something she says I should have had years ago. I'm also supposed to keep the pred on hand for emergencies, although I will be so glad to be done with this round after tomorrow. I hate it for so many reasons, from the weight gain (yes, it's already showing) to the headaches to the eye pressure to the insomnia that defeats one of the main purposes of taking it in the first place. But my breathing has been SO labored the last few days that I've had to stick with it, and even so it's only barely taken the edge off.

So, yeah, I'm feeling basically like death, not even warmed over. Raven and I make a matched set, I guess.

I've got a lot more work that I have to get done offline yet, too, and nothing left in reserve, so here are the links, because I have to bring in this $30K somehow:
  • My Patreon, The Interstices (Writing Between Worlds) (and if you subscribe today you won't be billed until May 1st for April);
  • Wings's site, for sales, with lots of new items posted;
  • Wings's direct PayPal link;
  • A way to buy me coffee (which actually goes to all of our medical bills, which continue to mount);
  • Amazon wishlist, which mostly consists of animal and household stuff, the big one being the fly spray;

#ThrowbackThursday: The Flow of Time and Timelessness

Photo copyright Aji, 2019; all rights reserved.

It's #TBT at The NDN Silver Blog, with a work that is a throwback only to last December's holiday season, but one that embodies the river and path of life itself. It's a work to to track past and present and future, an infinite pattern in the flow of time and timelessness.

The post is here. Wings's main page is here. This was a special commission, and thus one of a kind, but if the general style speaks to your spirit, simply inquire via the site's Contact form; Wings can create a version uniquely your own. And, as always, sales are very much needed (five figures out the door in taxes and just shy of that amount in medical tests, plus $30K in hospital balances, another $200 paid out today and a like amount tomorrow for scrips, and the prospect still of surgery and treatment looming), so shares of the site links are much appreciated.

Some changes.

Photo copyright Aji, 2019; all rights reserved.

That's mostly what our skies have looked like lately. Not much rain, but a lot of wind, which translates to a lot of pain for both of us.

May 1st, and time to make some changes. I have to get these hospital bills paid off; the stress is very literally killing me, and I'm very tired of constantly worrying about dying. Everything I do will geared around bringing in enough to pay them off. Everything. I have no room left in body or brain for anything else (not even for that; the fatigue is indescribable, and so is the pain and the constant fear), and I have to get this done if I'm going to survive. You've been warned. [And before someone pops off elsewhere with more nonsense, we do a lot for other folks around here that we don't talk about. We're currently trying to help four, no, five local households stay afloat, with work and other kinds of help. Some of it involves deeply personal stuff that is not ours to discuss; some of it is very fraught, with folks very close to not making it in very real terms, and that's not ours to discuss, either. But I want to make one thing clear, since the whisper campaigns do get back to me, you know: It's not "paying it forward"; this is a way of life for us, and always has been. Just because you don't see it online doesn't mean it's not taking place, often at very personal cost to us.]

The second thing is for Patreon subscribers. I'm not sure how much of a pace I can maintain, given how bad my medical condition is. I'm also tired of pulling my punches (and Wings, of course, has always told me not to do that anyway). you can expect the content to take a darker turn, a very much more realistic one, frankly, because things are very dark right now.

I've got a lot more work that I have to get done offline yet, too, and not much left in reserve, so here are the links, because I have to bring in this $30K somehow:
  • My Patreon, The Interstices (Writing Between Worlds) (and if you subscribe today you won't be billed until May 1st for April);

A Rattling Earth and Spiraling Waters

Photo copyright Aji, 2019; all rights reserved.

Now posted at The NDN Silver Blog, it's one of Wings's more recent signature works, wrought in his own unique style and infused with the properties of a powerful seasonal spirit. It's Serpent: here, a being of a rattling earth and spiraling waters, to help our world grow in harmony and prosperity.

The post is here. Wings's main page is here. Inquiries via the site's Contact form. And, as always, sales are very much needed (April forced us to pay out five figures' worth in taxes, with nearly that much again accumulated in medical tests just this year alone, and $30K in hospital bills still owed, with the prospect of more of the same looming), so shares of the site links are much appreciated.
