Indigenous Arts: Light as Model and Medium

Now posted at The NDN Silver Blog, it's this week's entry in our series on Indigenous Arts. Last week, we took an elemental approach, looking at water; today, we examine the light. There's a reason for it: In this place, the light is a fully-realized spirit of its own, one that plays a role in everything in this place . . . including art. It's a bit of a different way of defining "art," but I began this series not to parrot what's already out there, but rather, to get folks to look at the work of our artists, and at our world, in a whole new way.

The post is here. Wings's main page is here. Some of the silverwork depicted in the post remains available for purchase elsewhere on the site, as do the photos; simply inquire via the site's Contact form. And, as always, sales are much needed, so shares of the site links are much appreciated.
