Birth month.

It's my birth month. And it's unlike any October first we've probably ever had here.

The snow on the peaks is good. The rain bucketing down out of the sky all day is good (despite the fact that we'll be out in it getting soaked to the skin in another hour, dealing with the horse vet and the farrier for a couple of hours). But it's hard to feel celebratory when most of the gold in the landscape is due to die-off now.

We're both so tired. We need that well, and we can't even get on the drill list. Meanwhile, there's paying for the horse vet and farrier today, the dogs' annual shots, the quarterly taxes, more firewood for the long haul that's already begun, and my thousand-dollar eye appointment to make sure the lupus meds aren't harming my vision and get the new lenses I so desperately need but have been putting off constantly because pandemic and cost.

Which means that I have to make sales in a pandemic-ridden climate where almost no one's buying, because folks are afraid of how much worse all of this might get.  I've posted a ton of new work by Wings: here and here (one of those is now sold)and here, and here, plus three new gemstone bead pieces coming later today, and soon the four pairs of sterling silver peace-symbol earrings, and a new larger pair of gemstone bead dangles. If I could sell one of the big works, like one of the belts, maybe I could get us on the drill list. But I've got way too much to do and too few hours and other resources to do it.
