It feels entirely like winter now.

Four inches of snow before it was done. And bitter cold today: down well into the 20s overnight, and barely mid-40s now a little after 1 PM. Most of the snow is gone, of course, because it's bright and sunny, but it feels entirely like winter now.

We're going to need more firewood. 

We're going to need a lot of other things, too, but this day is already off to a disastrous start. Three hours after Wings's monthly Social Security payment was deposited on his card (which is to say, a little after 3 AM, because it hits at midnight), some asshole who had stolen his data charged up $135 across 11 Google Play transactions. No, he never shares his data. this was a straight ripoff. And really, stealing the Social Security of a disabled Indigenous elder? How low can you be?

Obviously, pretty damn low. But that's a major amount for us, and much more than we can afford to lose, so sick or no, I've spent way to much of the day trying [probably in vain] to claw it back.

And I am sick. When they tell you the Moderna booster is the worst of the bunch? They ain't lyin'. Wings had to postpone an appointment this morning, because I was too sick even to stand up; couldn't even tie back my hair, because I couldn't lift my arm, courtesy of the injection-site IM swelling. but the work has to get done, and I have to bring in more money somehow.

And without sales, there's no way to do that. We're also dealing with the same supply-chain issues as everyone else, and at some point soon, Wings is going to have to get silver and stones to produce holiday inventory, and I'm hearing that the price is already spiking on the metals. I've posted a ton of new work by Wings: another new pair of silverwork earrings Sunday night, here, and three all new pieces here two nights ago, in addition to other recent ones here and here (one of those is now sold) and here, and here. If I could sell one of the big works, like one of the belts, maybe I could get us on the drill list. But I've got way too much to do and too few hours and other resources to do it.
