The latest in Wings's new gemstone bead series, The Autumn Elementals: Fire.

Yes, I know it's late, but I've been on the run since 7 AM. I did promise, though, that I would have the latest in Wings's new gemstone bead series, The Autumn Elementals:  Fire.  And here it is.

As usual, three works: necklace, earrings, and coil bracelet. As with the others in this series, it's priced a little bit higher because of the outsized presence of a lot of ultra-high-grade (and thus exceptionally costly) gemstone beads. Also as always, each piece reflects a different aspect of space, season, and element. They're designed, clearly, to be worn together, but each work stands entirely on its own and is thus sold separately.

First up is the necklace:

This is called Aspens Ablaze, representing the phenomenon that is usually the first reliable wholesale indicator here that fall has arrived.  It consists of turned "aspen leaves" as focals — chunky citrine nuggets and especially those polished slices of raw amber — backed by golden yellow quartz and fossilized coral, chatoyant gold and midnight blue Pietersite, lapis lazuli, chrome diopside, African jade, and separators of polished amber and diamond-cut sterling silver. Next up, of course, is the pair of earrings:

These are Bonfire Beneath a Harvest Moon, and they consist of exceptionally long strands of cascading gems on sterling silver. The "moons" at the top are crackled fire agate, crimson but webbed with silvery clouds; the ones at the bottom are blood moons of deep translucent sardonyx. Moving inward, slices of icy moondust in the form of high-grade rainbow moonstone faceted rondels, and the same yellow quartz barrels that appear in the necklace are at the center. Spacers, again, are polished amber and diamond-cut sterling silver. You can read the full description here.

Third and last, but by no means least, is the coil:

The bracelet is The Sparks of a Scarlet Sunrise, also a phenomenon almost exclusively of fall here, and one that typically is no indicator of weather to come. The "sparks" at the center are more of those giant crackled fire agate rounds, and again, there are amber (both golden and cherry) separators and diamond-cut sterling silver ones. The rest of the rounds form gradients of size and shade, from sardonyx and yellow quartz through Red Creek jasper, red willow wood, Dolomite, lapis lazuli, and African jade.
