A pall over everything today, literally.

Yesterday began with news of a death, a wholly unnecessary one. By midday, wildfire had joined it as the next catastrophe. There have been no real updates on its management, other than to equate "zero-percent contained" with "real progress" and steadfastly refuse to talk about causes.

So there's a pall over everything today, literally. Supposedly we will get five days of rain starting Monday, but we can't depend on that to put it out, especially since what's forecast is lightning (which we haven't had in weeks). And not a single word of discussion about why we're here, yet again, or how to fix it, because that would mean decolonizing, and you know nobody's going to do that.

Until this earth forces them to, which it eventually will.

And in the short term, nothing else can wait. We still have to keep pushing, because this is a society that doesn't allow for tragedy, or catastrophe, or destruction and death, even when it causes them all. There are bills to pay, expenses to cover, supplies to be stocked for winter, people to help, and endless parade of demands. And it's our worst sales year in a long, long time.

But I've got to bring them in, and with a lot more consistency than over these past eight months. I posted Wings's two newest works last evening, here. I already posted his newest cuff here the other day, and it's amazing; it's called Stars Float Down Like Butterflies, and as soon as you see it, you'll see why. Last week, I posted his two new pairs of earrings, here. There's plenty of other new work in the site, too.
