Lot of yellow in the trees across the highway now. Ours tend to turn last in this whole area (just as they leaf last in the spring), but they're already going gold, too. I'm not sure we'll have much left by October, which is when most of this used to happen.

Then again, not much left on a lot of fronts.

This is hard day. It's a marker that bedevils me every single year for the last seventeen of them, and I hate it. It's a constant reminder of just how terrible family relationships can be, how abusive and even monstrous, and even when they're gone, the damage is still there. Add to that the fact that this protocol has jacked my pain levels into the stratosphere and reduced me to no more than three or four badly interrupted hours of sleep a night, and it's a hell of a day, and not in any of the good ways. I'll be glad when tomorrow's here, if only to have the first problem behind me for another damn year. For the rest? I don't think there's any hope at this point.

Meanwhile, we're both getting down to the work required of the start of our busy season, too. Of course, that means that Wings will be doing nothing except trying to build inventory for the holidays (I mean, aside from all the outdoor and other physical labor that he has to do to keep this place running), and I will be doing nothing but trying to sell it, and maybe — maybe — we'll manage enough sales to survive these next four months. 

So folks will presumably understand if I keep doing essentially nothing but push sales now. I posted his newest cuff here the other day, and it's amazing; it's called Stars Float Down Like Butterflies, and as soon as you see it, you'll see why. Last week, I posted his two new pairs of earrings, here. There's plenty of other new work in the site, too.
