First day of September; first day of meteorological fall. It was a beautiful morning, but even that early, stand out in direct sunlight for any length of time, and it's hot. The winds are up now, and the clouds are moving in a bit, but whether that translates to ran for us remains to be seen. They've stripped most of the week's forecast, officially, but the radar map shows severe thunderstorms on all sides of us now, lots of yellow visible on the green, and even more red.
The repair work is going to be expensive. The labor will be plenty; so will the materials, and we have to start with them, obviously, but we won't have a cost on the first stage before tomorrow sometime. It's going to be hellish, I know that much. They're taking it in stages, but even the first stage is going to set us back a lot.
And I still haven't made a single sale this entire long weekend.
It doesn't help that I woke up with a migraine this morning, and while I'm functioning, I've still got that whole run-over-by-a-tuck feeling going on. Today was also chemo day, and that tends to make me not sleep at night, even though it wipes me out, so that's not encouraging. None of this is anything new; this is just what lupus and RA do, and I've got both combined, plus a few other things, but the pain is completely unmanageable right now, which means the fatigue is, too.
And none of that matters, because I have GOT to bring in some sales, and so far? Nada. In addition to the deck repair [because it's a danger now] there's all the medical stuff to pay for, new scrips, and a bunch of equipment stuff that Wings needs for his work. there's also still the lurking possibility of new and expensive medical imaging and labs in a couple of months, if I can't get this other problem [hypoglycemia, dangerously low blood sugar] isolated and managed on my own.
It's been a ridiculously expensive year already [on top of last year], but if we can just continue to make regular weekly sales, we'll be fine. But we need to make those sales now. There's a lot of gorgeous new work up, and that includes several pairs of brand new earrings are a more modest price point than most of this work, but I've got to sell them for it to make any difference.
