In the red.

My beloved bigger fire maple is going red now. That's just the top; all the rest is still green.  But with lows in the thirties overnight now, it won't stay that way long.

It feels like an early winter is coming, and a hard one. Here, "hard" means "good," because it means lots of cold and snow. To us, "hard" is actually the opposite, what we've had the last seven winters, with almost no real cold and no snow.

But having these changes arrive early this year means that we're both feeling the pressure early, business-wise. October through December is typically our busiest time of year, with him trying to get as much studio time as humanly possible to crank inventory for the holiday sales season, and we both already feel behind the eight ball on it.

Add to that the fact that I'm already behind the eight ball on sales, and it's a lot of pressure. And speaking of being in the red, last week set us back more than $3K, cash; this week will cost us around $1,200, as nearly as I can estimate beforehand. And it's been a ridiculously expensive year already [on top of last year]. If we could just continue to make regular weekly sales, we'd be fine . . . but we need to make those sales now, and so far, that's not happening. There's a lot of gorgeous new work up, but I've got to sell it for it to make any difference. Not a single sale this weekend. I need that to change this week, and fast. And to that end, links are here:

And we do still need to make those regular weekly sales, so please share all of the links. We really do need this to be a better month than what we've had so far this year.
