Speaking of confetti . . . that up there is what it looks like when you take a photo with the flash while it's snowing. Same shot with the camera properly turned to "night" mode:

We didn't get a lot more than that — only a couple of inches, max. The saving grace is that while it started out dry and flaky, it turned wet and heavy, and with the sun out all day, it began melting straight into the ground, which is what the earth so desperately needs. We got quite a bit more here than they did just south of us, toward town, and it was enough colder (and windier) here that while town is mostly snow-free now, we still have the majority of ours left. it'll be gone in a couple of days, though.
Long day today; long appointment through the middle of the day, and new sources of stress. On the plus side, we sold three pairs of earrings today, and a couple of kind and generous folks dropped something in PayPal, so we can take care of She-Wolf's vet appointment and my next follow-up. It's still close to the bone, though; Pueblo closes in a few weeks (and will be closed for several weeks), and this year we don't have our usual safety net of holiday sales that gets us through these lean winter months (to say nothing of all the extra expenses we have thanks to my uncooperative medical issues and everyone's inability to figure out what's wrong).
So we still need all the shares and all the sales we can drum up right now, and will for quite a while. BTW, Wings has several new pairs of earrings in the works, plus some other new pieces in the early stages of design, so keep checking back; I just posted a new bracelet and a new ring to the site this evening. Here are the links; please continue to share them consistently:
- Tonight's post elsewhere (short, but kinda cool, I think [and also COLD]);
- A way to buy me coffee (which actually goes to She-Wolf's meds);
- Wings's direct PayPal link;
- Wings's site, for sales;
- Wayfair gift cards, to replenish all the furnishings that the RV has destroyed in one way or another.
- Partial registry #1, from Bed, Bath and Beyond. There are new kitchen-y things on it now, stuff that I didn't realize we'd need to replace (either because the RV ruined it or because we gave it away when we had to downsize).
- Partial registry #2, from Wayfair.
I am no more functional than I was a few days ago — less, in fact, although we can't pin down why. I mean, we know it's all part of whatever happened to me in November; it's just that no one can figure out what that is, much less how to fix it. It makes me feel old and decrepit, especially given that I can't take 20 steps without getting short of breath, and I still can't lift or carry anything, which means I'm utterly useless around here. Still, it's a gift to wake up each morning, even when the wind chills are teens or below; on mornings like this, you get glitter. Thanks, everybody, fro both of us, for everything.
