The weeping willows are dying. Two of the aspens are dead, and two more are trying hard to follow suit. Even the stands of red willow are half-dead, by which I mean that half of each stand is dead and not coming back.

The drought is killing us, and still the colonizers keep invading, "developing," straining nonexistent resources for hundreds, thousands of new builds, and no one halts it. Meanwhile the state is projected to be back up to more than 1,250 new cases per day by month's end, but it cold easily be more, given that we're already averaging ~700 or more a day now.

And I have to worry about our survival.

That was brought home to me in the starkest of ways this morning, by way of a bad asthma attack. It was apparently triggered by the citronella in the dog and horse anti-bug spray, so that's one more substance I can't have around me now. It took the inhaler AND a dose of prednisone to get my breathing back. And that's terrifying, especially with the new, ultra-contagious COVID variants and me with a suppressed immune system now.

I'm on hiatus from everything except making sales, because the bills don't give a shit whether I can move or sleep or do anything or not. Which means that making sales has got to be my perpetual focus, and I can't do it alone. Wings has A LOT of new work, including one more new cuff I'll be posting today, so I'd be grateful to everyone who shares all of it, and of course, if you're in the market, keep us in mind for purchases. After paying our taxes the other night, I really do need to build up some reserves to get us just a tiny bit ahead of the eight-ball of bills.
