Two all-new works by Wings, and they're both fabulous.

I've been promising these for days, with no time to get to them until now: two all-new works by Wings, and they're both fabulous.

First up is the most recent, a necklace completed only yesterday:

Yes, I need to retake that second shot; the glare in the studio from the late-day sun was too much. It actually looks the way it does in the top shot, and it's fabulous: an extraordinary rectangle of chrysocolla in matrix, brilliant blues and greens in golden-brown host rock, with the beads hand-selected to pick up all the colors of the cabochon. It's named When the River Calls the Sky, and it really does look like our Great River winding through the canyon, reflecting back the blues overhead. Beads are freeform golden carnelian, jade and apatite small rounds, and two forms of chrysocolla: a pair of fabulous large accent beads of old, old natural material with intense blues, and a few framing barrels of leaf green with bits of sunny, earthy golden-brown matrix. You can read its full description here.

Of course, if you're looking for something more overtly Valentine's Day-oriented, we've got that covered, too. This is his newest cuff, completed a few days ago:

This one is called For Love of the Water, a reference to the role of the Skystone at its center and the woven, braided appearance of the band. That band is heavy-gauge sterling silver pattern wire, nominally half-round in shape but with a molded outer surface that I think was supposed to look like an elongated Moroccan tile pattern but instead looks more like weaving. The heart cabochon is a perfect sky blue webbed with very fine matrix lines that render slightly golden on-screen but are actually golden-red, like siltstone. It was sold with no provenance beyond "natural American turquoise," so my best guess is Kingman. You can read its full description here.

And, as always, Wings's main page is here. Inquiries via the site's Contact form. We will still need to make consistent sales as we enter this fourth year of pandemic and loss, and while most of the holiday season is officially over, there are opportunities for belated gifts and many occasions for gifts thereafter, so shares of the site links are much appreciated.
