Tile delivery Saturday. A lot more to go.

Not a great shot, but a close-up of the front doors from yesterday. No work on the house today; we were both so exhausted that we slept in (which for him is a decent amount; for me, "sleeping in" apparently means getting up at 7:34 AM, but I'll take it). In two days, though, things get interesting again: The downstairs tile is at long last being delivered, 12 X 12 slate for everything but the bath, and a more decorative geometric tile for that (the overage of which will be turned into kitchen countertops and backsplash). The latter is kind of earthy beige and blue; the former is natural slate that ranges from browns and grays to almost violet and rose in muted shades. The engineered hardwood for upstairs will allegedly be delivered next week. We'll see.

I'm a little less heartsick than last night, if only because this means that we will soon see at least a pinprick of light at the end of the tunnel (and we can reschedule some things for a couple of months out). Once the tile is in downstairs, it will become much easier to envision what the finished house will look like, and it will allow us to deal with the water heater and appliances and cabinetry and so forth.

And at that point, be very nearly done.

But it's going to take a lot, and it's very expensive, all of it, and our cash is going for labor and materials that have to be bought here, and so sales and cards are both extremely helpful in reaching the end of this incredibly long process. So here are the links:
  • Wings's site, for sales;
  • Lowe's cards via our Amazon wishlist;
  • Lowe's cards via the company site; and
  • Home Depot cards via the company site. The e-version using my e-mail address is great; I take the tablet to the store with me, and they scan it off the screen.
As I said last night, I am going to be mostly unavailable for several days. The fact that I'm writing all of this at eleven o'clock at night tells you what my schedule is like right now. I'm also mostly not very up for talking at the moment, not until we make enough progress that I can see that 1) there's actually an end point, and 2) we get to have a life out of it.
