We move forward, flooding or not.

A happier image from yesterday, before the various storms, literal and otherwise, hit. They got the east wall done; all that remains of the base coat is the south (front) wall. Sadly, the color coat will not be on until the end of next week or the following one, which fucks up my plans in a not-insignificant way.

Yes, I'm calmer now. Not feeling any less extorted, but we're good (shout-out and thank-yous to two folks who know who they are and why I'm doing it). With luck, the tile will be up here next week, and we've left a message for Floyd to arrange for them to come out possibly as early as Monday to seal the upstairs and get the RedGuard down and the Hardeebacker up on the downstairs bath (and RedGuard the rest of the floor, too).

Finally connected up with our vet last night, too. She's coming out the check Shade on Monday, including allergy testing. Shade's been suffering, and I do mean suffering, from severe allergies for about three weeks now, but we haven't been able to pinpoint the trigger; this might take care of that. And our vet says that, given the location of the mass we found yesterday and her vastly heightened allergic/inflammatory response right now, it might be nothing more than a severe reaction to insect bites (such as flies or mosquitoes); apparently, it's a common location for some mares. We'll know more in a couple of days, but it sounds as though we may not need to worry, at least right away, about something that's only fixable through surgical intervention.

Nothing is being canceled; merely . . . narrowed in scope for the time being. And I will be scarce for the next seven or eight days, but part of that scarceness will necessarily involve buying materials, supplies, and assorted other stuff for the construction process, so sales are always welcome, and cards as well. So here are all those links:
  • Wings's site, for sales;
  • Lowe's cards via our Amazon wishlist;
  • Lowe's cards via the company site; and
  • Home Depot cards via the company site. The e-version using my e-mail address is great; I take the tablet to the store with me, and they scan it off the screen.
The rain is about to hit now, and I've got a ton of other stuff to do, both indoors and out. And we already have some flooding on the way to the pond where they tore up everything yesterday: not much flow into the pond that I can see, but plenty of seepage and pooling all the way to it. For now, I have to haul some stuff in before the rain really hits.  Many thanks, profound gratitude to some of ya'll who keep me sane, and much love.
