Raven is asleep on the rug; he has his ups and downs, but he's made it clear that he wants to stick around for the moment. That's the good news.
Mine is . . . less so. I have the immediate results of last weeks' imaging, and am waiting to hear again from my doc about immediate steps and scheduling. I'm not going into gory details here; suffice to say that at least two organs are implicated (neither, thankfully, heart or lungs). There is pretty clearly no scenario in which this is nothing to worry about. The question for the moment is whether it's something relatively easily handled, or something else that has the potential to be very bad indeed. This is fear made very, very real now. The next real step is going to be more imaging, as fast as we can get it scheduled, essentially. I have no idea what the cost is going to be, and we'll have to pay cash up front for it again to be remotely manageable. Beyond that . . . ? It all depends on what it shows. I had dared to hope that we might be granted a bit of a reprieve on that front, but I guess not. Right now, I just need to hold it together and not think too much about what it could be. Meanwhile, all this stuff is piling up fast, so here are the links for sharing (or using, if anyone's so inclined):
- My Patreon, The Interstices (Writing Between Worlds) (and if you subscribe today you won't be billed until January 1st for December);
- Wings's site, for sales, with lots of new items posted;
- Wings's direct PayPal link;
- A way to buy me coffee (which actually goes to all of our medical bills, which continue to mount);
- Amazon wishlist, which mostly consists of animal and household stuff;
- Partial registry #1, from Bed, Bath and Beyond. There are new kitchen-y things on it now, stuff that I didn't realize we'd need to replace (either because the RV ruined it or because we gave it away when we had to downsize).
Good vibes for Raven are still welcome. I could use some, too.
