Rib bones and other body parts.

Raven yesterday, with two massive rib bones. The local folks who raise and butcher cattle give us the bones for the dogs, and we scored two big boxes of them yesterday. At the moment, Raven's inside with me, snoring away on the floor. [No, he doesn't have a lot of time left. But the medication is giving him enough energy to enjoy life when he's not sleeping, and even to run occasionally.]

Otherwise, the week has been mostly hot garbage, and it's going to get worse. Speaking of body parts, I'll be spending tomorrow afternoon in the doctor's office, learning what she thinks these things have the potential to be, whether there's anything we can do immediately, and what additional testing will be required (quite a bit more imaging at a minimum; also maybe more invasive things that I don't like contemplating).

As I said, I have no idea what the cost is going to be, and we'll have to pay cash up front again for that cost to be remotely manageable. Beyond that, it all depends on what the new imaging shows. Even best-case scenario is going to be serious; my luck doesn't tend to run to best cases, so I have to get my head around the idea of potentially very bad news all while hoping for the best so I don't lose it completely right now. I'm not going to handle it well at all if it turns out to be worst-case that could have been prevented had they done the right thing 14.5 months ago. Meanwhile, all this stuff is piling up fast, so here are the links for sharing (or using, if anyone's so inclined:
  • My Patreon, The Interstices (Writing Between Worlds) (and if you subscribe today you won't be billed until January 1st for December);
  • Wings's site, for sales, with lots of new items posted;
  • Wings's direct PayPal link;
  • A way to buy me coffee (which actually goes to all of our medical bills, which continue to mount);
  • Amazon wishlist, which mostly consists of animal and household stuff;
  • Partial registry #1, from Bed, Bath and Beyond. There are new kitchen-y things on it now, stuff that I didn't realize we'd need to replace (either because the RV ruined it or because we gave it away when we had to downsize).
Good vibes for Raven are still welcome. I could use some, too.
