A day of visitations.

It's a beautiful day . . . except, again, for the wind. It's also a busy one. And it's been a day of visitations, too. No, not the horse; that's Wings going to fetch Miika. Other visitations: first, a colonizer diving into the red willows at our north fence (turns out he was cleaning up the trash people throw out on the highway, so he's okay); my girl, otherwise known as the mama of our young red-tailed hawk, who heard my voice and wheeled around to come hover and say hi; and the first bullsnake of the season, minding his own until the dogs freaked out over him. [He's fine; they're fine; everybody's fine.] We like having the bullsnakes here, because they keep the deer mice in check, and with the pandemic and bird flu and fashy nonsense and climate collapse, nobody needs literal plague and hantavirus on top of all that.

I just wish the winds would move along and leave us to get on with the business of late spring and summer. There's so much to do yet, and so little time, and it's impossible, for example, to till when the winds are blowing the dirt everywhere at 30 miles an hour.

But we also have a lot to get done on the business front, beginning with bringing in enough sales to let us prepay all of next year's quarterly taxes. My hand and wrist are improving, but they're not there yet, and certainly not out of the splint brace, so that slows everything down, including chasing sales. But as I said last week, we've got Wings's newest work here and here, with more to come (you should see the big one currently in process, around the tree or so commissioned pieces in various stages). All of them are incredible, and all need to find their homes. All the links are listed below, so please share:

  • Sales here
  • Testimonials here
  • Amazon wishlist here (new priority, because I've been forced to eliminate another staple from my diet just to function rather minimally, and someone mentioned that perhaps our old non-stick pans, which are in fact long since well beyond their useful date, are making the matter worse, so there's a non-PFAS replacement set at the top that would help with cooking/cleanup/my hands/my illness; and yes, the Zero-Odor sprays are still useful right now, although these days it's dusty dogs, not wet ones);
  • Patreon here;
  • Ko-fi here.

There's lots of fabulous work on the site, so please share all of the links.
