What Wings is doing right this minute: back at work with the drawknife. That hide is going to beautiful when it's done. The dogs, needless to say, are very interested in everything involved.

Still cold here; slight lull in the wind at the moment, but that won't last. We have red-flag warnings for the foreseeable, which implies a burn ban, but again this morning, while the winds were blowing, somebody far too close by had a fire going outside, the smoke plume clearly visible. I hope it's actually out, because one spark . . . .

I'm even farther behind than I was a few days ago, thanks to my whole right hand dislocating for days. It's a bit better this morning, but I wouldn't call it "good"; regardless, I'll be keeping the brace on it for a good while to try to prevent it from worsening again. At least I can floss my teeth today; the pain was so excruciating that I could not even grip the end of a piece of dental floss with that hand. I know people think I'm exaggerating, and to y'all I'll just say that I'm glad you've never had to experience it, and I hope you never do. Me? I get this on the near-daily now, and there's nothing to be done, apparently, except outwait it.

But we also have a lot to get done on the business front, beginning with bringing in enough sales to let us prepay all of next year's quarterly taxes. Hard, too, when you can only type using one hand, and it's not your dominant one. Anyway, as I've been saying, we have new work: two new pieces, a cuff and a pendant, posted here the other day, and another new cuff that I posted the following day.
