It's barely scratched the surface.

More clouds building up steadily since dawn. We had more rain overnight, too, and supposedly we're due for more here shortly. 

It's been a gift, but as Wings has learned the last couple of days? It's barely scratched the surface. He's been digging thistles out of the garden plot by hand, which is a nightmare, because even the smallest ones have giant roots that go down a foot or deeper. And below the first couple of inches? That soil is bone-dry, and rock-hard.

So as wonderful as these rains have been, it's not even the proverbial drop in the bucket of this drought. Which, of course, is nowhere near over, no matter what sort of nonsense colonizer pols and media keep spouting. We're still IN IT.

And we both have so much to do here, it's ridiculous. At least we don't have to spend all of tomorrow in an unsafe doctor's office tomorrow; what IHS apparently deliberately did not tell him was that he cold get the knee injections through them (but someone slipped and mentioned it). He got them last week, but they don't seem to have helped, unfortunately; the pain is still monstrous. And the other pressures don't ease off at all, of course. I will still have the truck repairs to pay for if the damned converter ever comes in, and now we need a part for the fridge that no one will ship. So I need to be chasing sales on every front.
