Another beautiful day, seventy degrees and still mostly clear skies. That photo is from an hour or so ago, just before I sat down to write today's post, and that was essentially the extent of our clouds then. While I was writing, the wind picked up temporarily, and blew in a bunch of haze from the southwest, so while the east/northeast is still mostly clear, there's a webwork of thin white clouds and dissipating smoke over much of the rest.

The smoke's not from here, thank all that's holy. No, that comes from the three fires (one prescribed, and continued even after the two other ignited on either side of it) from southwest of here, below Socorro. But we still get the effects of it, and much of the northeast is now learning what it's like to live in an age of climate collapse even when they recognize no signs of their own climate collapsing with it. I'm just relieved to be able to step outside without a mask today. 

So far, at least.

Meanwhile, the work continues apace here. No rain in the immediate forecast, so Wings is taking advantage of it to get the mowing done, now that the grass has had a few days to dry out, because it becomes a haven for mosquitoes rapidly, and we know through grievous experience that they carry West Nile around here, too. Even so, he'll probably be back in the studio later, and of course, I will still need to chase sales consistently. I just posted his two latest here the other night, and they are extraordinary: Get a load of the stone and the bezel work in the top one (and the stampwork on both of them). And they're stackable, too. I know somebody out there wants these.

In the meantime, I've got tons of other work to catch up on here, too, and I'm gimpy today; knee brace and therapy boot on the left, and subluxes in both knees and both feet (and all the terrible pain that attends them). I've got too much to do offline here, includng the garden starting probably tomorrow or Monday, and I still need to bring in enough to cover everything on a regular basis.
