Wings's two newest works, a pair of extraordinary cuffs.

I said I would try to have Wings's two newest works, a pair of extraordinary cuffs, posted here today. For once, I made it on schedule.

And they are extraordinary.

The first one is shown above (actually the second in terms of completion, but they were only hours apart). Here it is from another angle:

It's a phenomenal melding of classic traditional and bold contemporary styling, with the cabochon offset on the top of the band. This one is called Creating Sky, and it's formed of heavy-gauge sterling silver with the outer surfaces stamped freehand, deeply, end to end and edge to edge. A trail of stars drifts gently along the inner band, and both narrow edges are stamped in their own unique repeating patterns. The focal is a freeform cabochon, mostly oval, of outstanding Turquoise Mountain turquoise from Arizona, deep teal blue, marbled with red siltstone and patches of shimmering iron pyrite (it looks more like Morenci, actually, but it's not). You can read the full description here.

The second is all silver, no stones, but no less dazzling for that:

This one is also formed of heavy-gauge sterling silver, but where the one above was half-round "wire," this one is triangle wire: a perfect sharp apex with three matched flat angles. One the two outer angles is a mirror-image pattern of clouds and stars, perfect for our skies this season, and the name reflects that: Summer Nights. There's a flowing-water pattern along the inner band, created with Wings's own hand-made stamps. But the real kicker is the apex, that filament-thin, sharp ridge along the top center: Here, it's traced end to end with starburst symbols worthy of any summer fireworks display. You can see the apex and other angles, and read the description, here.

As always, Wings's main page is here. Inquiries via the site's Contact formWe will still need to make consistent sales in this fourth year of pandemic and loss, and just breaking even means making at least one sale a week, so share are much appreciated.
